Important information about the Cleveland Bridge (A36) work/closure in 2021/2022

The Bathwick Boatman is situated south of the River Avon in Bath. Cleveland Bridge (A36), a main route over the river to the east of Bath, is undergoing major repair works April>October 2021, including complete closure to traffic May>July.

Please be aware that this may affect your journey to the Boatman if you are travelling from the north or east of Bath and need to cross the river. Signed diversions will be in place, please visit https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/cleveland-bridge-renovation-project/planning-your-journey for up-to-date details and to plan your journey.

For car journeys from the east you may be able to cross the river at Bathhampton toll bridge, otherwise you will need to take diversions through central Bath (north of the river) and cross the river at Churchill Bridge (near the bus station), or Windsor Bridge (the official signed "diversion" to the west of Bath)
