Starters (Christmas Dinner)
  • Starters served with freshly baked bread & butter.
  • Roast butternut squash soup, sage & pine nut pesto (v)
  • Our butcher’s chicken liver paté, toasted walnut bread & golden raisin purée
  • Gravadlax cured salmon, lemon crème fraiche, capers, shallots
  • Roast beetroot & goat’s cheese salad, beetroot dressing (v)
  • Smoked mackerel paté, pickled mushrooms & toast
  • Ham hock, soft boiled hen’s egg, peas & parsley
Mains (Christmas Dinner)
  • The first five main course dishes are served with five dishes are served with lemon and thyme roast potatoes, seasonal greens, and carrots roasted in honey & wholegrain mustard.
  • Roast free-range turkey breast, pig in blanket, stuffing, gravy, braised red cabbage, cranberry sauce
  • Belly of pork, cider & mustard sauce, red cabbage braised in orange & port
  • Confit duck leg, port & rosemary jus
  • Pan fried Salmon fillet with dill beurre-blanc
  • Boatman nut roast, rich tomato sauce (v)
  • Gnocchi, roast squash, tender-stem broccoli & chestnuts (v)
  • Bean, chestnut & root vegetable stew, new potatoes tossed in lemon & thyme, seasonal greens (vegan)
  • 8oz sirloin steak with garlic butter, grilled flat mushroom, chips & salad, tomatoes slowly roasted with thyme & garlic (There is a £3.50 supplement for the steak, thank you)

  • Traditional Christmas pudding with brandy custard (v)
  • Cherry & kirsch cheesecake with cream (v)
  • Warm chocolate & hazelnut brownie with chocolate sauce & vanilla ice cream (v)

Our meat is supplied by the excellent Terry & Son Butchers on London Street. Our vegetables & salad are non-sprayed, & locally grown (where possible) by Ger Rich, next to Solsbury Hill. Service is discretionary but for groups of 10 or more we ask for a 10% optional service charge, gratuities go to the team who serve you – thank you.
