Christmas Crackers & Candlelight – Car Park and a Warm Welcome!

Starters (Christmas Dinner)
  • Salad of grilled pear, Bath Blue cheese & croutons (v)
  • Chestnut & cranberry falafel, mixed leaf salad (vegan)
  • Our butcher’s wild boar paté, spiced apple & red onion chutney
  • Beetroot cured home-smoked salmon, cucumber & apple pickle
  • Sweet potato & coconut soup, spiced red pesto (v) (vegan)
  • Starters served with freshly baked bread & butter.
Mains (Christmas Dinner)
  • 8oz sirloin steak with garlic butter, grilled flat mushroom, chips & salad, tomatoes slowly roasted with thyme & garlic (There is a £4.50 supplement for the steak, thank you)
  • Gnocchi with roast cherry tomatoes, peas & spinach, in a creamy parmesan & black pepper sauce (v)
  • Boatman nut loaf (– chestnuts, lentils, nuts & winter vegetables) served with new potatoes, seasonal greens, & red pepper coulis (vegan)
  • Pan fried Hake, risotto of lemon, rocket & parmesan, balsamic jus

  • Confit duck leg, mushroom, shallot & red wine sauce
  • Slow roast belly of pork, Somerset cider gravy, red cabbage braised with cinnamon & orange
  • Roast free-range turkey breast, pig in blanket, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce
  • The following three dishes are served with rosemary & thyme roast potatoes, seasonal greens, & winter root vegetables roasted in honey & wholegrain mustard

  • Selection of local cheeses with chutney & crackers (v)
  • Warm triple-chocolate brownie with chocolate & hazelnut sauce & vanilla ice cream (v)
  • Mango sorbet & raspberry sorbet with cherry-kirsch compote & toasted almonds (vegan)
  • Honeycomb ice-cream, stem ginger puree & buttery shortbread (v)
  • Caramel & apple cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream (v)
  • Traditional Christmas pudding with brandy custard (v)

  • Today’s fish fillet roasted, with dill beurre blanc
  • Roast free-range turkey breast with stuffing, cranberry sauce
  • Roast topside of beef, horseradish sauce
  • Roast leg of lamb, mint sauce
  • The roast meats & fish are served with potatoes roasted in olive oil & seasonal vegetables, the roast meats are also served with Yorkshire puddings & gravy

Our meat is supplied by the excellent Terry & Son Butchers on London Street. Our vegetables & salad are non-sprayed, & locally grown (where possible) by Ger Rich, next to Solsbury Hill. Service is discretionary but for groups of 10 or more we ask for a 10% optional service charge, gratuities go to the team who serve you – thank you.
