A small family run restaurant offering friendly service, great food... and an unbeatable riverside location. Can't recommend it highly enough.

A genuine Bath gem — worth revisiting again and again.”

Alongside Ben and Rosy, a happy team of individuals run the restaurant. Chefs Robert and Mike get creative in the kitchen with the wealth of fresh produce the West Country provides: Fish from the south coast delivered regularly by Cove Southwest, Meat from excellent Bath butcher Terry & Son, Veg & salad from Ger Rich grown just by Solsbury Hill, Eggs from Nick’s farm in Perrymead, Cheese from the Bath Soft Cheese Company in Kelston, Locally brewed ale from Abbey Ales Brewery.

A quiet part of Bath

23 years ago, while Ben was personal chef to Italian restaurant and wine critic Veronelli, he met Rosy. The pair fell in love in Lombardy and worked together in Tuscany and Ravenna, ending up in the Italian owned Pelican Hotel on Miami Beach, they started a family. Since 2007 the Bathwick Boatman has been their project and their passion, a journey of sorts. Like other good independents, this restaurant offers a “Slice of Life”, brought alive by the people who work here and the customers who choose to dine here.

“One can say everything best over a meal”
