Our restaurant trade and the Coronavirus

Please see our Takeaway Service Information about how to order, pay, and collect food safely.

Dear Customers, thank you for all your support, we understand you agree that staying safe, supporting the NHS and protecting the vulnerable are our priorities. Our Takeaway service could be very temporary as a result. We will do our very best to communicate any change to our service, but we take each half-day at a time – like you. Thank you for your kindness and co-operation in these challenging times.

Rosy and Ben and the Team at the Bathwick Boatman Restaurant

Here at the Bathwick Boatman we are continuing to provide delicious dinners and lovely Sunday lunches with our Takeaway Service. We can do this confidently with the help of government guidelines and rigorous staff management. We are only 4 team members (including proprietors Ben and Rosy) with access to the restaurant, and only 3 on the premises at a time so that we can manage the sanitising and safe distancing. Our staff live alone and avoid all social contact between home and the restaurant. We have implemented stringent rules to manage COVID-19. If any members of staff here have Coronavirus symptoms they will not come in to the Bathwick Boatman, but stay at home for at least 14 days. If any members of staff have exposure to someone who has Coronavirus symptoms they will self-isolate for at least 14 days.

Our staff are rigorously implementing the government guidelines on: Handwashing guidance, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces, Avoiding close contact with people, And following the “Catch it, Bin it, Kill it” guidelines.

We are telling customers, through signage before entering the car park – please can they NOT come in the restaurant. Also if customers have Coronavirus symptoms or have been in contact with someone who is showing Coronavirus symptoms please can they NOT come into the car park. Our suppliers are safely delivering – the advantage of having a car park drop off point, together with a stringent premises hygiene routine and the knowledge that the virus cannot be carried in food, allows this opportunity to provide meals.

If there is any scope in the future to sell groceries from our premises we will do our best to let people know as soon as possible.

Many thanks as always!
