Burns Night!

 

Menu

 

£30 per head

3 courses including coffee & a wee dram of whisky to toast the haggis

 

Starters

Served with freshly baked bread & butter

~ Cullen Skink – haddock, potato and onion soup

~ Venison paté on toasted brioche with homemade chutney

~ Salad of Scottish blue cheese with honeyed walnuts and grilled apple (v)

~ Home-smoked salmon, pickled beetroot, capers & horseradish crème fraiche

 __

Main Course

~ Haggis, neeps & tatties, with red wine gravy & braised sprout tops, a dram of whisky for the toast!

~ Roast salmon fillet with a creamy mustard-whisky sauce, tatties and seasonal greens

~ Home smoked bone-in pork chop, Stornoway black pudding mash, roast apple,

cider jus & seasonal greens

~ Casserole of mushroom, shallot & chestnut, served with champ mash

(cheddar & spring onions mashed with potatoes), & seasonal greens (v)

Dessert

~ Cranachan – raspberries, cream & honey with toasted oatmeal & whisky

~ Warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and coconut ice cream

~ Honeycomb ice-cream with a stem ginger purée and buttery shortbread

~Blackcurrant sorbet & orange sorbet with toasted almonds

~ Selection of cheeses with chutney and crackers

celebrated Cirencester wine gang “Talking Wines”.

The evening starts at 7.30pm as we sip an aperitivo

 and enjoy some canapés, then sitting down by 7.45-8pm to eat

 (…and drink 4 more stunning wines)

 – the tasting courses are of a good size so save your appetite!

Scrumptious wines from Germany and Alsace…presented by our celebrated wine man, Richard Guest from Talking Wines

 To match the wines we have German themed food – the tasting courses are of a good size so save your appetite!

The evening starts at 7.15pm as we sip a Pinot Gris from the Alsace region and enjoy some canapés.

Then sitting down by 7.45pm to eat (…and drink four more stunning wines).

It works out at a bottle of wine per head, so please make use of our car park if you wish to leave your cars overnight.

It’ll be a fun and informative evening, bringing you examples of some familiar and indigenous grape varieties – and the odd rarer one.

We may have a chance to guess the grape variety before Richard tells us what we are sipping!
